Forensic Evaluation

Dr. Persing performs a range of forensic evaluations, including: child custody (i.e., guardian ad litem or GAL), guardianship, psychological evaluations (e.g., Rule 35), parental capacity and fitness, substance abuse, child requiring assistance (CRA), competence to proceed, competence to stand trial, criminal responsibility, violence risk assessments, and sexual risk assessments.

Psychological Testing

Psychological assessment helps clients to better understand their strengths and weaknesses, the nature of their problems, and to clarify appropriate treatment.

Dr. Persing evaluates children, adolescents, and adults’ cognitive, neuropsychological, academic, and emotional functioning and provides comprehensive assessment reports.

Dr. Persing has a specialty in the Rorschach Inkblot Test using the R-PAS scoring method.

Clinical and Litigation Consultation

Dr. Persing evaluates the work of other psychologists. In addition, she provides document review, relevant research review, and trial consultation for attorneys.

About

Dr. Persing obtained her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. Her educational background includes Child Development, English Literature, and Religious Studies.

Dr. Persing completed her APA predoctoral internship at WestCoast Children’s Clinic in Oakland, California. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship training in Child and Family Forensics at the Child and Family Forensic Evaluation Service at William James College in Newton, Massachusetts.

Dr. Persing is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology at McLean Hospital. Dr. Persing presents and teaches at the local and national level for professional audiences.
